He was disbarred and served time for a Contempt of Court citation, but was never convicted of a felony. The assault charges for a fight with a man who ended up going through a plate glass window never materialized.

Here's the local NBC station's article about his attempt at getting his license back - http://www.nbc12.com/story/14080386/morrissey-could-get-law-license-back

Also, wikipedia has a small entry on the man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_D._Morrissey) that doesn't go into a lot of detail.

In general, if there's a nanny-state issue that's been raised in the GA since 2008, this man's name is there somewhere. Good example - the attempted tax on plastic bags.Shamandinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05321984093931809247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4146148016062694502.post-91090043203932405832012-02-02T09:54:50.051-05:002012-02-02T09:54:50.051-05:00@Shamandin: So he was not just an assistant but TH...@Shamandin: So he was not just an assistant but THE Commonweath Attorney. He has been since well...He is definitely anti-gun. He has been since well before his days as the Commonwealth Attorney. And it's sad fact that this ... gah. Can't say what I think of the "gentleman" without moving way past the PG-13 area. Sad that he's my Delegate.

The truly ironic part, due to his felony conviction (and prison service), he's amongst those that would fail the NICS check. Guess that's a bit of a good thing, though.Shamandinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05321984093931809247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4146148016062694502.post-35308227349720453462012-02-02T04:26:47.536-05:002012-02-02T04:26:47.536-05:00It's Fightin' Joe Morrissey, this is mild ...It's Fightin' Joe Morrissey, this is mild for him.
