I Lost A Bet And I'm Happy About It

The Complementary Spouse and I had a bet on whether I would have 100,000 visits to this blog before the end of 2010. I think the total was in the 60,000 range when we made the bet. Obviously, she had more faith in me than I did. The 100,000th visitor was yesterday evening and was from the state of Ohio.

Our bet was for $1 just like in the Dan Ackroyd - Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places.

As I said, I lost the bet and I'm happy about it. Thanks to all who have visited and continue to visit this blog.

Also, thanks are due to other bloggers like Sebastian, SayUncle, Instapundit, Dave Hardy, and David Codrea who have linked to my posts here. Without them and their links to this blog, I'd still be puttering along with a few hits a day.

Finally, thanks to the Complementary Spouse aka The Blog Widow for her faith in me and this blog.

  1. Its the insightful commentary on legal issues that keeps me coming back.

You also called Andrew Traver before anyone except maybe the Bradys and Obama.

  2. @pete - Thanks for the nice comments. I'll try to continue to live up to them.

  3. Nice work on the blog! It has become a daily site for me to check in the last few months.

  4. just found your blog... for a fairly recent newbie to the gun world, i think there's some interesting reading here - thanks! my significant other owns a small gun & gift shop in northern ny that i've been refurbishing for the past year, but there's just SO much to learn... we host an outdoors show here, so i found you through my search for andy langlois - one of our exhibitors at a gun show in august. i plan on visiting regularly to learn a little here and there - congrats on the 100,000!

  5. @Suzie: Good luck with the shop. Andy Langlois IS a master craftsman when it comes to leather - and funny to boot.

Thanks for the nice comments and I will try to help your "education" along.

  6. Two things:

Thing 1:I am reliably advised the key to astronomical click counts is cookie recipes.

I have yet to try it, but I did have an idea a few days ago.

Thing 2: Always remember and do not ever forget RKBA is a 360 degree battlefield.

The friend of your friend may someday be your opponent.

With serious bloggery a companion dog is a must.
