So What If They Outlawed The Bullet Button

The gun prohibitionists in California thought they were sticking it to gun owners when they banned the "bullet button". The two bills signed on Friday by Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) which banned the "bullet button", AB 1135 and SB 880, have very similar language. The laws said that to be exempt from consideration as an "assault weapon" the firearm must have a fixed magazine.
(b)  For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action.
Darin Prince, the inventor of the original Bullet Button, responded with something that will drive the gun prohibitionists nuts because it fits within the letter of the law yet allows you to replace a magazine very quickly. It may not be as quick as what I can do in a free state but it seems every bit as quick as a "bullet button".

  1. Friend of mine happy about that but worried more, "the fact that you still have to register it... it's only going to get worse so at this point we've kind of decided we're looking for looking for other places already".

    1. I don't blame them. If I lived in California and could move, I'd be considering it. The high taxes, declining schools, high cost of living, etc. combined with onerous gun control would trump a nice climate for me.

  2. I used to live in California. Left years ago for a variety of reasons. Have always considered it my dream place to go back to (two main hobbies motorcycling and surfing) and every year it gets a little worse and a lot less likely that I will actually do it.

On the bullet button, I checked out their website and am chuckling at American ingenuity. They invented the bullet button, which requires that you push the button with a tool to release the mag for those of you who are unaware (a bullet tip can be used as the tool), and then they appear to have invented a tool that magnetically sticks to the end of the bullet button so that you don't have to actually use a separate tool. In short, they created a mag release that satisfied the requirements of the law but did the exact same thing as the original mag release. I love it.

  3. Nice one, you people can also take help from the MA Gun License to make yourself really feel safer and secure. This can also be done by getting proper training regarding safety as these days safety issues are the part of all the countries.
