Dream On, Rahmbo

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel held a press conference today to bemoan the fact that Illinois will now finally have shall-issue concealed carry. He said he was glad Illinois was the last state to adopt concealed carry and that he hopes the Illinois General Assembly will allow Chicago to adopt its own stricter concealed carry ordinances.

He goes on to say that Chicago is different and that it "needs" gun control. I would agree with him that Chicago is different than Downstate - it has more shootings and murders than the rest of the state despite having much tougher gun control laws.

  1. NJ is a defacto non CCW state. They have MAY issue CCW and permits are NEVER issued.

  2. so if CCW was just approved today, and no permits will be issued for approx. 9 months, how does the little ballerina explain this weekend in Chicago? Does he assert it was caused by legal gun owners angry over not getting a good parking spot at Starbucks??? C'mon Wee Little Man, admit it - you are going to lose your go to blame object soon and will have to maybe admit you and other liberals have been ineffective . . . and when the people realize that all of your BS on cutting crime didn't do squat, but having a legal weapon did, you are out of a job. smoke that.

  4. I'm all for splitting Cook County and Downstate into two different states. Why don't you get on board Mr. Mayor?

    1. The problem with making Chicago a separate state is that they would get two US senators and God knows how many representatives to send to Washington!

    2. NO! If you do that, the suburban municipalities in Cook county will be under the thumb of Chicago. This is like the Munich Accord that gave Hitler jurisdiction over countries that didn't want to be there -- all in the name of avoiding another war with Germany.

If Chicago wants to become a "city state" and go on it's way, then the voters of Chicago get the Dictatorial thumb to grind them down. Please leave the people of other cook county towns, cities and villages alone to follow freedom with the rest of us.

Can you imagine Tony Preckwinkle as Governor of the State of Chicago? Rahm? Think about that too long and you won't sleep well for a year.

  5. After watching this MORON'S press conference, and seeing the sheep surrounding him, I can understand again how OBOZO got elected. Neither of these bums has a clue!

  6. Ovomit got elected because people don't pay attention and go look for the truth. Lazy Americans would rather get the "truth" from the liberal media.

  7. Both Quinn and the Mayor of Chicago have been a total disappointment. Guns have nothing to do with violence. I own a gun and it has never broken a law in its lifetime. The who gun control in IL is about keeping these idiots in power. They are squarely responsible for the mess.

  8. The gun problem, shooting, killing, gangs have nothing to do with legal guns or really law enforcement. The problem is the culture created by liberalism, welfare, poor education and drugs one feeding the other. It has taken since the Great society of Lyndon Johnson to create the problem and there is no quick fix, but can be fixed but need a different direction.

  9. The one thing that Rham and his ilk cannot get through their heads is that CC permit holders are by definition LAW ABIDING CITIZENS! Unlike the gang-bangers whose idea of a good time is to drive around Chicago & shooting into homes and crowds.

  10. I wonder if rham or Quinn would allow their mothers to walk around the south side unarmed or unguarded, like the women living there now have to do without protection.

  11. I recently became aware of a website named oathkeepers.org. This organization consists of veterans, police officers (federal, state and local) and all members of the elected political class. In other words those individuals who has taken the oath "to defend and protect the constitution of the United States." Anyone joining this group makes a pledge that they will never comply with or enforce unconstitutional laws in relation to the second amendment. It is interesting to note that the Chicago media has never asked the likes of Emanuel, Quinn or Lisa Madigan why they feel free to subvert our right to keep and bear arms as expressed in the Illinois and federal constitutions. Clearly they have not been doing their jobs and have been protecting these "oath breakers." It is all very said that this line of Chicago political thinking has made it all the way to the White House personified by Barack Hussein Obama. 12. (Little man)Rahm's idea of gun control is a further support and continuation of violence and gang related incidents.
LEGAL GUN OWNERS are not the ones he needs to, should be, chasing after. It's the many of his
city of Chicago gangers, that DO NOT carry proper identification, register their guns, abide totally by the law, that ARE the problem that he should be dealing with.
Fr. Phelger isn't going to eliminate the problem, Jesse Jackson isn't going to eliminate the problem, Mayor Bloomberg won't eliminate the problem. The CITIZENs of Chicago will have to step up and eliminate the gun violence.
Rahm needs to understand the legal, licensed, concealed carry of protective guns has nothing to do with the violence that prevails in the city of Chicago. It's political horse hockey.
Incidentally, the entire State of Illinois has suffered long enough with the COSTS, and, sufferings brought on by this "out of control city."
It's a cash cow that's leaking funds worse than a broken seive !
Crook county time of existance is definately showing it's broken beyound repair and needs to be paired down A LOT !

  13. Worse thing that ever happened to the city of CHICAGO, is to elect a political hack, who has "little man" syndrome, a massive "do what I tell you" chip on his shoulder, and, no idea of how to get anything worthwhile done. He has the experience of working for a "do nothing" President, and, learned the technique of the "blame someone else" answer to model himself after, with the hope that he is working his way up to a larger position in government.
This is another case of stupidity in action by a obviously self-directed, crony politician.

In Rahm's little whining diatribe about guns, he says that just this past weekend that someone used an AK-47 to shoot some people, and that is why the City of Chicago NEEDS to have an assault weapons ban. Wait a minute...Chicago already HAS an assault weapons ban, and this PROVES that it doesn't work to stop criminals from using assault weapons. It just stops honest, law abiding citizens the chance to defend themselves with the very same firearms that the gangbanger thugs get to use so indiscriminately. Rahm-an noodle brain, when you can prove to me that you and that useless Gerry McCarthy have removed ALL of the "assault" weapons from the hands of criminal gangbangers, then maybe, MAYBE you can talk about removing them from the hands of the honest citizens, and the citizens of those bad areas of Chicago that need them the most I might add, are the ones you want to take them away from, but that's O.K. because they're the people of color that you and McCarthy and so many other politicians have deemed unworthy & untrustable to be allowed to have these guns to simply defend themselves because God and everyone else knows that YOU AREN'T DOING IT. Also, you talked about gun crimes Rahm. Remember this: Defending your life from a savage animal killer is NOT a gun crime, so lets not have Goon McCarthy sic his stormtroopers on the innocent people who will begin to defend themselves when they finally do get the chance to legally carry a concealed sidearm to defend themselves and their loved ones.

  15. Emanuel's cynicism is just special, isn't it? Chicago mayors for decades have done exactly the same thing: Called periodic press conferences on violence in which they promise the gullible rubes that they really are tough on crime, just give me your votes and I'll continue to give you free stuff, they get reelected, and on and on it goes. You'd think that eventually the people would wake up and realize that they are nothing but stage props to pols like Emanuel. You think dead bodies actually matter to this malignant dwarf as long as he gets reelected? Wanna buy a bridge?

  16. You are right Chicago is not like Downstate Illinois. Chicago is the Murder Capital of the United States and their Mayor is Clueless. However he and his family must always feel because of his BODYGUARDS with their Assault weapons ready to use.

  18. Oh, dear God!

Chicago has been infamous for gun-toting gangsters since the thirties. It's als been ina=famous for its corrupt cops.

I can speak to that last with persnal knowlege adn authority. In 1969, withoout provocation, I was savagely beaten and kicked by three Chicago pigs -- no, they do not merit the title of "police officer" -- and then charged with both "resisting arrest" and "aggravated battery of a police officer". I faced 3-5 years in the pen -- you know, the one where they later dug up the bones of dozens of prisoners who were on the books as having escaped!

Emmanuel, people NEED guns in order to protect themselves.
