S.82 - A Senate Bill On Guns That I Can Support

With all the noise created by the media over the new gun control bills introduced in both the House and Senate, pro-gun bills get a little lost in the background noise. Here is a bill that I think most pro-gun people can support. It was introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) yesterday.

S.82 - Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)
A bill to provide that any executive action infringing on the Second Amendment has no force or effect, and to prohibit the use of funds for certain purposes.
Has been read the first time but has not been referred to a committee yet.

  1. Rand Paul for president 2016, he is the type of person we need to lead our nation!

    1. His willingness to speak up for the people, ask the questions nobody else will ask, and be downright blunt in actions he would take (I would do it too, Hillary!), among all the other things the man is doing, has already secured him my vote. I believe he would be the one who could potentially undo some of the madness from this current administration, and take us back to the Constitution supporting nation that we once were. 2. Nice. And I'd like to see the text of the bill.

However, you have to realize this is all just political posturing. This had no chance of getting passed. This bill was introduced for only 2 reasons (1) To insult the Dems who want the AW ban (2) To endear himself with pro-gunners for future election cycles.

Now, not saying that endearment isn't well deserved - but it would be for OTHER reasons, not this bill. Let's continue to watch this one. He has potential.

  3. "A bill to provide that I do not agree with anything anyone on the other side of the aisle says, ever, and to provide for me to stir their coffee with something nasty while they are not looking."

    - first bill that every legislator, everywhere, should introduce. Get it over with.

    Thank you, Senator Obvious.
